L`ALTRA META` DEL CIELO (The Other Half of Heaven)

Partners in the project are working to develop new opportunities through social enterprise for disadvantaged groups in Campania, the area around Naples in Southern Italy. The partnership consists of:

• RES INTERNATIONAL - a training centre in the region and catalyst of new business in the field of social economy
• KEYWORLD - much experience in the field of institutional communication for social issues and in organisation of activities with children
• CARITAS - fights against any kind of discrimination in the local, national and international context
• LA ROSA BLU - an innovative association for social action towards gender mainstreaming and equal opportunities

The purpose of the Italian EQUAL project’s work is to:

• Favour access to the labour market for men and women in the sector of social services for children
• Raise the awareness of public opinion with regard to a new concept of equal opportunities

The Italian EQUAL project’s work will result in:

• The development of training, with practical activities and ‘on the job’ training for trainees at childcare settings
• The setting up of nurseries in companies, public and private offices
• A regional seminar with institutional, economic and social stakeholders in the region where a guide for best practice about equal opportunities will be presented
• The production of a TV and radio social commercial for the mainstreaming of the new concept of equal opportunities
• The production of a CD to promote all of the initiatives
